Ghanas' Right to Information bill was drafted in 2002 to provide a legal frameork that will allow people to ecercise thier rights. of access o information held by government agenciews as the legitimate owners.

Information is power and power is access to information.  Access to information strenghtens democracy, good governnance, transparency, accounatabilty, economic growth and development, poverty reduction and it fights corruption.

This is what the RTI Bill seeks to address. The bill which is currently sidelined by parliament has not recieved the necessary commitment from policy makers over the past ten years.

In view of this the RTI Coalition formed since 2007  has been advocating for the law and calls on you to append your your signature in support for the passage of the RTI Bill into law this year.

Slogan: Right to information, Power to the people...
